Peugeot 208 & 2008 Reep Praise in Irish Media

By Sandyford Motor Centre Apr 20, 2020

2020 has already been an amazing year for Peugeot, picking up awards from the likes of “Red Dot Design”, “Car of The Year” and more. Here in Ireland, Peugeot started the year strong with the release of new innovative SUV, hybrid and electric models. These models, particularly the 3008 have turned heads in the industry, amongst review panels and customers alike.

Peugeot 208

The all-new Peugeot 208 is the latest model to receive recognition in the media, with the Irish Examiner awarding the car 5 stars in its April feature. The 208 is reaping just and deserving praise as the latest addition to the supermini brigade, storming into the market as a fresh, performance focused vehicle with a compact style, making it a must have for any urban setting.

The Examiner’s Verdict surmised the 208 as a “game-changer for Peugeot”, which has been in line with other reviews we have seen so far this year. The article claims "In supermini terms it is very close to being revolutionary and more exciting to drive and live with than most. That being so, it joins the five-star brigade.”

The author compared the 208 to other Supermini models, stating “Although very similar in appearance to the previous Clio, the new one stands out because it has been invested with a driving dynamism rarely seen outside of the Fiesta or Polo. It’s also bursting with tech.”

On the stylish interior, it read “Innovative, flash and very user-friendly, the 208 raises the bar like few others in the class have managed in eons. The 3D layout is neat, engaging and informative.”

Peugeot 2008

The Peugeot 2008 has received similar praise from the Irish Independent. Peugeot's new compact SUV arrived on these shores in 2020 and made a statement with its smooth exterior built for driving on any roads. The WhatCar review of the 2008 called the said about the car “Stylish inside and out with plenty of substance to match, the Peugeot 2008 is a polished and practical small SUV.” Sandyford Motor Centre has proudly stocked and sold the vehicle to happy customers throughout 2020.

The Irish Independent published a gushing review of the SUV in April 2020, entitled “How Peugeot’s new SUV baby, the 2008, is suddenly all grown up”. In it the author states “Would I buy a 2008? Yes. There is a serious bit of packaging going on there: from size to comfort to technology.” More praise for one of Peugeot’s best selling SUVs.
