New Peugeot 208 Unveiled at Geneva Motor Show 2019

By Sandyford Motor Centre Mar 11, 2019

This week’s Geneva Motor Show saw Peugeot lift the veil on the brand new Peugeot 208, an impressive upgrade on the popular sports model. The car is an example of Peugeot’s strategy of moving into a more upper class market, with the exterior design showcasing more youthful aesthetics than before.

Car lovers in Geneva were left shocked by what was described by carmagazine.co.uk as one of the most important cars at the 2019 show. This new 208 comes in three different options, either petrol, diesel or electric. In terms of the actual design, the new model is wider, lower and also longer than the current 208, which is at the centre of Peugeot’s B Segment. This was reinforced by The low emission vehicle strategist for Peugeot saying “Our strength is the 208; we think we can present an answer no matter what the customer is looking for”

The Peugeot CEO, Jean-Philippe Imparato was quoted about the 208, saying “The great story of our brand is moving forward with purpose. Treat yourself by choosing first the new 208, then the trim level and the engine type. In one word… Enjoy!”

Key Features

The interior is one key feature of the 208 which sets it apart from the others in its price range. This particular interior line is on par with the inside of the premium 3008 SUV range & the 508, and also includes the all new Peugeot 3D i-cockpit. We can easily see similarities to the SUVs on the outside also, especially, with the same black band running across the bootlid. The signature Peugeot 3 claw lights & a gloss black rear spoiler cap off the stand out derriere optics of the 208. A luxury black diamond roof comes as an optional feature.
